It is believed that women have gone through certain series of change during the last few years, and the Moroccan woman is no exception. Women in morocco have undergone a strange and uncontrollable metamorphosis that made them European-like-women or rather, Moroccan women lost in the golden dream of Europe ; with a new family code imposed by the west world on an Arab and Muslim countries, which has its own laws and convictions. A code that gives a new image of the modern Moroccan woman, and introduces a mass rebellion against the old deep rooted Moroccan social and religious concepts, beliefs and ways of life. Emancipation in its real and genuine meaning, is the right for opinion, work, equality and citizenship. But, infortunately, in our society, it means a complete conversion and radical change from a state of being to an other ; leaving behind all what we used to. We all love western movies and dream about leaving in the american way. We all dream of being Hollywood stars or passing our holidays in California. It’s human to dream, it’s a beautiful thing to be a dreamer ; still, to build your life on a impossible dream, has nothing to do with reason.
